Core Responsibilities • Financial Reporting: Maintain the general ledger, prepare balance sheets, income statements, and monthly financial reports. • Tax Preparation: Calculate, prepare, and file quarterly and annual tax returns for businesses or individuals. • Compliance & Auditing: Monitor internal financial controls, ensure adherence to tax laws, and assist during internal or external audits. • Tax Planning: Analyze financial data to recommend tax-saving strategies, deductions, and credits to minimize liabilities legally. • Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and accounts payable/receivable to ensure accuracy. Required Qualifications & Skills • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designations are highly preferred and often required for senior positions. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (like QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong ethical judgment, analytical thinking, and the ability to explain complex tax concepts simply.
