Safety, Reporting and Blocking
DOSTUP connects people, but DOSTUP does not guarantee another user, listing, product, service, payment, or transaction. Use your own judgment and take reasonable precautions.
Protect your account
- Never share your password, one-time code, or verification code.
- Be cautious with links or files sent in messages.
- Use a unique password and keep access to your email and device secure.
- DOSTUP support will not ask for your password in a conversation.
Before meeting or paying
- Review the listing and ask questions before making a decision.
- Be cautious when someone creates urgency or asks you to move communication away from DOSTUP.
- Do not send money merely because another person promises to reserve an item, home, vehicle, job, or service.
- For high-value transactions, consider independent verification and appropriate professional advice.
- Meet in a suitable public place when practical and tell someone where you are going.
Jobs and housing
- Be cautious of job offers that require upfront payment, financial transfers, or sensitive information before a legitimate hiring process.
- Verify housing details and the person's authority to rent or sell before paying.
- Do not rely only on photos, messages, or documents supplied by the other party.
Vehicles and marketplace items
- Inspect the item and verify important details before completing a transaction.
- For a vehicle, consider checking ownership, history, condition, and documentation through appropriate independent sources.
- Do not assume that a listing has been inspected or verified by DOSTUP.
Reporting
- Use Report listing or Report user when available.
- Choose the most accurate reason and provide useful information.
- A report does not guarantee a particular outcome or response time.
- If you believe there is an immediate danger or a crime, contact the appropriate local authorities.
Blocking
- Blocking limits supported interactions between you and that user.
- Blocking is not a substitute for contacting emergency services or law enforcement.
- You can unblock a user later when that option is available.
If you are unsure about a situation, pause the interaction and seek help before sending money, sharing sensitive information, or meeting.
